Lead PastorContact: stan@sonrise.ca
I was pleased to launch this church after much planning and prayer with a team of people in February of 1989. The past 20 or so years have been filled with many happy stories, challenges and blessings – and I love being a part of it all.
This year my wife Joan and I celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary, and together we have 2 daughters who have married and presented us with 7 grandchildren to date. When all the kids are in the house it’s a great, wild time. I love teaching God’s word and helping people catch God’s love and vision for their lives. Hope to meet and talk with you soon.

David Brown
Family Life PastorContact: david@sonrise.ca
For the past 10 years of our 26 years in ministry, my wife Jeannie and I have been serving here at Sonrise where I am currently the Family Life Pastor. I have studied at ACTS seminary, North American Baptist College, Jubilee Bible College, and Eston Bible School in the areas of Couselling, Christian Education, and Religion. I really enjoy working with our 50+ group and my involvement in the community through the Chamber of Commerce and the Cloverdale Christmas Hamper Program.
I also provide counsel, encouragement, pastoral advice and prayer, both formally and informally, for many members of the congregation and our community. I am glad to be a part of the body of Christ that we know as Sonrise Church!

Tiffany Honcoop
Director of Communications & MusicContact: tiffany@sonrise.ca
Hi! After graduating from Trinity Western University with a degree in Communications in 2008, I joined the team at Sonrise, excitedly jumping into leading all sorts of ministries! I am currently serving as the Director of Communications and Music, which includes youth ministry, office administration, website production, worship leading, and seasonal musical program directing. The busy-ness of church life and ministry often reminds me of my happy (and busy!) childhood in a house of 6.
I love working with teams and witnessing first-hand the talents and personalities God has assigned to each of us uniquely. My husband Dillon and I live in Washington, USA, but still feel like Sonrise is our home. We love seeing what God is doing in the lives of everyone here, and are glad to be a part of the continuing development and dreams of our church.

Al Miller
AdministratorContact: al@sonrise.ca
My wife Marla and I have been married 29 years and are parents to 4 adults, and grandparents to 2 toddlers. We have been attending Sonrise since its creation in 1989. Upon retirement from my position with Canada Post, I joined the team at Sonrise as ‘Administrator’ to help oversee the business and administration realm here. I am also involved as the Director of our Sonrise Orphan Care Zimbabwe projects, through which I have been excited to lead several teams to Zimbabwe to support local churches in their care for orphans and expansion of ministry and community aid.

Bruce Lungren
Missionary
I grew up in Africa where my parents worked as missionaries, and now as an adult I am following that same path. I attended Jubilee Bible College in Vancouver, as well as BCIT where I studied Marketing Management. I lived in Burkina Faso with my wife and 2 children as a missionary for 15 years, and then later moved to France for 5 years to aid in evangelism and church planting there. I’m pleased to be back here in Canada for a time, attending and helping at Sonrise. My main ambition and desire is to lead people into becoming wholly devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Lauren Lungren
Missionary
I grew up right here in the Lower Mainland – Burnaby, and studied at Douglas College. I was a certified Dental Assistant before going into full-time ministry with my husband Bruce. With my family, I have spent 15 years in Burkina Faso and the past 5 years in France. We are currently in Surrey providing support and assistance to Sonrise. My passion is to see people discover Christ and become all that He has intended them to be and see the next generation take their place. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of life in Quebec and being part of what God is up to there!
