Hello Sonrise! We had a great day last Saturday with ‘Mothers Day at the Spa’ for single moms. A wonderful team of volunteers helped with all the ministry aspects. We had 20 ladies as guests with 18 children. There were 26 haircuts, 16 manicures and 12 oil changes delivered. Over 60 % of the donated clothing found a new home and everybody enjoyed the day. Hello Sonrise! There was a great group of youth and adults last night taking in the Nightshift orientation at Sonrise. Nightshift is a multichurch outreach and ministry focused on the needs of the Whalley community and others in Surrey affected by drugs, alchohol, family dysfunction and homelessness. We look forward to partnering with various outreaches sponsored by Nightshift. This Saturday at 10 am is ‘Mom’s Day at the Spa’ for single moms in our community. Hello Sonrise! The last Thursday of each month our 50+ group gathers for lunch and a time of fellowship. Today Shirley Marshall shared about her and Lorne’s recent ministry trip to El Salvador. Hello Sonrise! Our next team leaves for Zimbabwe this Saturday; Al Miller, Jeff Davis, Arthur & Nathan Tymos, Lawrence Franson, Don Picklyk and Ron Pelzer will be working on the buildings at Kadoma. Hello Sonrise! Thanks to all who participated in making our Easter events a great success. A team of about 40 people served to make the Good Friday Family Fest a lot of fun for about 160 people. A large number of children and their parents enjoyed a pancake breakfast and took a Journey to the cross. Of course chocolate eggs were the biggest hit! Hello Sonrise! We are busy getting ready for the Good Friday Family Fest tomorrow morning beginning at 9:30am with a pancake breakfast followed by ‘Journey to the Cross’. He frequently attended Sonrise with his sister Elise Magill and mom Freda Mattern. There will be a service on Monday April 2 at 3 pm at Sonrise and everyone is welcome to attend. The Marshall’s have been with the Lapka’s in El Salvador and ministering in that community. After this weekend they will be enjoying a brief vacation before returning home.
