Today's Bible reading: Jeremiah 1-2; John 10Scripture:Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born i set you apart; i appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Observation:Jeremiah was born into the lineage of a priest, but God had an additional unique calling on his life to serve as a prophet. This was initiated by God before Jeremiah was conceived and as a child it was revealed to him by the Lord.
Application:Jeremiah's heritage destined him to serve as a priest. This was focused on faith and ministry to the nation. This was a good life and service to the Lord, but God called him to another level of impact and ministry.
I need to be careful not to limit God's calling on my life to the good things that he has placed before me to date. He may well have some ideas that are out of my comfort zone to fulfill His will in my life.
I will embrace His will and calling on my life going forward.
Hello Sonrise!
We are having a great time with Wet & Wild Camp this week. Over 40 campers are enjoying a week of getting wet and sometimes a little cold. Our team is doing a great job of having fun, sharing some Bible stories and making friends with many of the children at the camp.
We have one more camp – Discovery Camp – August 20-24. This camp will conclude with our Summer Camp Grand Finale on Sunday, August 26th with a lunch and an opportunity to connect with some of the families who have been involved in our summer camps. Don’t miss this Sunday!
We are in the midst of planning the fall ministry at Sonrise and trust that the Lord will enable us to have a strong impact this fall as we live out our faith together and reach out to the world with the good news of Jesus.
We will be offering the Alpha Course this fall and I would encourage you to prayerfully consider who you might invite or bring along to Alpha. Our alpha dinner will be on Sunday, September 23rd at 6:30pm. This is an event to bring friends to experience the context of The Alpha Course so that they can decide if they would like to make the 10 week commitment to the classes.
Our ladies will be having an exciting conference for women on October 26-28. Their goal is to gather 150 women for a weekend of teaching, ministry and worship with the intent to see many released into a fresh sense of God’s presence and stepping up to their God given destiny. Watch for details in the next few weeks!
This Sunday we are pleased to have ACOP President Wes Mills to speak at our Sunday Worship Service.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Stan
