In 2019, Sonrise raised $20,000 to invest in emerging leaders. That fund became real bursaries for real people, and those people became pastors, church planters, and missionaries serving across Canada and around the world.

The Legacy Through Leaders Fund is the next chapter: a $250,000 endowment built to keep sending leaders out, for generations to come.

The Legacy Through Leaders Fund is an endowment, not a one-time campaign. The $250,000 we raise stays invested, and the interest it generates is what funds the training, education, and support our emerging leaders need. The principal stays. The fruit keeps coming.

This fund supports leaders pursuing ministry through Sonrise, the ACOP, across Canada, and overseas. It covers credentialing, theological education, church planting assessments, global worker training, leadership conferences, and monthly support for leaders in development. Wherever God calls people from Sonrise to go, this fund helps them get there equipped.

Three Ways to partner with us.

Pledge Monthly

The simplest way to be part of the campaign is a monthly pledge. Pick an amount, commit through to the campaign close in September, and your giving builds quietly in the background. Whether it's $20 a month or $300, every pledge moves the total.

Give a One-Time Gift

Some gifts work better as a single moment. If a one-time gift is what you're able to give, you can do that through the same block above. It lands in the same fund, counts toward the same total, and is just as much a part of the story.

Show Up for the Offering Weekends

Three Sundays during the campaign are set aside as special offering weekends, including the Vision Launch on Sunday, May 24th and the Final Commitment Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 26th and 27th. These are moments to give as a church, together. Mark the dates and come ready.

What is an endowment, exactly?

An endowment is a fund that stays invested permanently. The principal isn't spent. Only the interest it generates is used, which means once the $250,000 is raised, it keeps funding leadership development year after year without ever running dry.
Who decides where the money goes?

Distribution of funds is overseen by the pastoral team and approved by our elders and directors. The fund supports leaders pursuing ministry through Sonrise, the ACOP, across Canada, and overseas, including credentialing, theological education, church planting assessments, conferences, global worker training, and monthly bridge support during a defined season of development.
Who qualifies to receive funds from this?

Leaders the church has identified as emerging or proven, with both the character and the competency to be sent. Recipients are chosen against criteria set by the leadership team and approved by our elders and directors. The fund is built to invest in people Sonrise already believes in.
How is the money managed?

The fund is professionally managed to generate consistent returns while protecting the principal. Investment parameters are set by our directors and follow established guidelines for endowed church funds.
Can I designate my gift to a specific person or purpose?

Gifts to the Legacy Through Leaders Fund support the endowment as a whole rather than individual recipients. This is what makes the fund sustainable. If you'd like to support a specific leader directly, reach out to the church office and we can talk through the best way to do that.
Can my kids be part of this?

Yes, and we hope they are. Some of the most meaningful giving in this campaign will come from kids and youth running their own initiatives, including bottle drives, garage sales, and creative fundraisers. If your family wants to organise something, get in touch and we'll help make it happen.
What happens after September 30th?

Once the campaign closes, the fund is fully established and begins generating interest for distribution. Leaders supported by the fund will be commissioned and sent through the normal life of the church, and we'll continue to share their stories as they go.
